    Dick’s Sporting Goods

    Nationwide

Builtech teamed up with Dicks Sporting Goods to renovate an existing store located in Nile, IL while they continued to operate. The store remained open as the renovation was completed in several phases. Prior to the beginning of each phase of construction, Builtech coordinated the de-merchandising of the phase with the store manager and a floor to ceiling plastic wall was constructed around the work area to separate the work area from active retail floor. The scope of work consisted of selectively demolishing each phase, re-configuring walls and blocking to accommodate new racking plan, adding new blocking to existing walls, patching existing walls, painting walls and ceilings, installing new light fixtures, re-configuring electrical outlets and lighting controls, re-configuring fire alarm system, re-configuring fire sprinkler system, installing new flooring, installing new trim, hanging new signage, and installing new merchandising fixtures. Keeping the store open and functioning during the remodel proved to be a challenge. The project required carefully planned coordination between the store staff, DSG Construction Manager and design team to ensure that each phase was turned over to the store as scheduled. Builtech also worked with DSG on remodels in Dublin OH and Chicago, IL.
