Duration: 18 months

In the heart of Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood and directly adjacent to the Chicago River, Riverfront Plaza is a classic 300,000 square foot urban strip-center. Builtech was engaged by the original developer of the site to assist with its repositioning. With more than thirty operating tenants, the re-positioning project required detailed phasing and coordination with the City of Chicago and the existing tenants to ensure safe and fluid pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The work included extensive demolition, façade reconstruction, and tenant build-outs for Burlington and Ross Dress for Less. Builtech’s excellent relationships with Burlington and Ross Dress for Less were integral to the project’s success. Builtech also effectively managed numerous demanding operating tenants and an exceptionally challenging City of Chicago approval and inspection process.

“I breathe a sigh of relief when Builtech is on our jobs. Their quality is solid, they understand our stressors, accommodate our demands — and they always deliver! We work with them directly and with various developers around the country. Work in the City of Chicago is nuanced and challenging. As usual, Builtech owns those challenges and works Client: Emmes, LLC, Burlington Stores, Inc, hard to make my job easier.”
