Location: Chicago, Illinois
Client: Value City Furniture
Size: 37,000 square feet
Delivery Method: General Contractor, Negotiated; Non-Union Labor
Completion Date: October 2016
This is Value City Furniture’s first urban flagship store located in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood following their company re-brand. Builtech worked with the client and architect from pre-construction through completion to develop a schedule that would keep the project on-time and on-budget. Located on a brownfield site, Builtech had to solve many site obstacles to create a sound and safe infrastructure. Site improvements included the abandonment of existing city wells, relocation of existing utility infrastructure with ComEd and work with the City of Chicago Water Department. Builtech also rebuilt a city street to meet current CDOT standards.
