The Courtyard 40 is a five-story, mixed-use redevelopment project in the heart of downtown Elgin, IL. Constructed in 1893, the historic Spurling Block building was modernized in 1957 with façade renovations adapting the “Art Modern” style of the period. Known over the last several decades as the Elgin Commerce Building, this historic building is being converted into a modern space for all to enjoy. This project includes 4,500 SF of ground floor commercial space and 40 market-rate apartments with units ranging in size from 430 – 825 SF. These brand-new, beautifully curated apartments offer studio, one bedroom and two bedroom floor plans that will include modern finishes. Occupancy in Summer 2024.
